- Obasanjo’s son, Olujuwon, has pledged support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid after joining the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

Olujuwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has pledged to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 after accepting an advisory position in the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement.
He made his position known on Wednesday, November 4, during a visit to the organisation’s headquarters in Abuja.
The movement, which mobilises support for Tinubu, appointed him Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
Speaking during the visit, Olujuwon welcomed the appointment and praised the organisation’s community outreach and efforts to promote the administration’s activities.
He said he had followed its work and was prepared to contribute to its mobilisation efforts ahead of the presidential election.
Olujuwon also urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the continuation of Tinubu’s reforms. He cited salary payments, infrastructure and investment opportunities as areas where he believed the administration had made progress.
Addressing political differences within his family, Olujuwon said he had belonged to the All Progressives Congress since 2014.
He explained that members of the Obasanjo family were free to hold independent political views and pursue their interests without hostility.
He also recalled attending meetings involving his father, the late former President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu during the formation of the APC.
His remarks presented his support for Tinubu as his own political choice; the announcement did not indicate an endorsement by the former president.
Welcoming him, the movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, expressed confidence that Olujuwon’s political experience would strengthen its activities.
Asuku said his understanding of political mobilisation would help advance the organisation’s objectives across the country.
During the visit, Olujuwon was taken around the headquarters to familiarise himself with the movement’s structure and operations. His advisory appointment is within the support organisation.
