Bobrisky, sentenced to six months imprisonment for abusing the naira, has been transferred from Ikoyi Correctional Center to Kirikiri Prison for security reasons.

Kirikiri’s expansive facilities were cited as a factor in the decision.

Embattled Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky has been moved from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to the Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Centre in Lagos.

Versenews gathered the transfer follows his sentencing to six months imprisonment by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for abusing the naira.

Although Bobrisky was initially held at Ikoyi Correctional Centre, he was discreetly transferred to Kirikiri for security reasons, as confirmed by an official from the Nigerian Correctional Service. The expansive nature of Kirikiri was also cited as a reason for the move.

A source from the Nigerian Correctional Service explained that such a transfer is standard procedure due to the larger size of Kirikiri compared to Ikoyi, providing more space for accommodating inmates.

“It is procedural that he is moved to Kirikiri since it is an expansive prison compared to what we have here,” the source said.
