Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux, has opened up about the difficulty he faced in convincing his wife, “Priscilla Ojo”, daughter of Nollywood actress “Iyabo Ojo”, to convert to Islam before their star-studded wedding.

VerseNews reports that Juma, in an interview with “Afrikmedia”, reflected on the challenges of supporting Priscilla through a significant religious transformation, crediting his success to the patience and support from Islamic scholars and mentors.

He emphasised the importance of a gentle approach, noting that he was advised to engage Priscilla in thoughtful discussions about Islam rather than rushing her into conversion.

He said, “I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had dreamt about it and I was so lucky to find someone who also wanted the same thing as me.

“It was a little bit difficult convincing her, but I was receiving lessons from religious leaders and people who are keen about Islam. So they told me that there was a way that I could convince my wife to join the religion.

“They said I should go with her slowly, teach her this and that, tell her this and that, although it took time but she later understood.”
