Arsenal have officially ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title after rivals Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The result at the Vitality Stadium confirmed Arsenal as champions of England for the first time since the famous “Invincibles” campaign of the 2003/04 season under legendary manager Arsène Wenger.

Manchester City needed a victory to keep the title race alive, but Pep Guardiola’s side failed to secure all three points, leaving Arsenal mathematically unreachable at the top of the table.

The triumph marks Arsenal’s 14th English top-flight title and ends a six-year trophy drought for the North London club.

It is also the second major trophy won by manager Mikel Arteta since taking charge at the Emirates Stadium.

Following three consecutive runners-up finishes, Arsenal finally completed their title mission after a remarkable campaign that saw them lead the table for much of the season.

Their title challenge appeared under threat in April after a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium handed momentum to Guardiola’s side.

However, Arsenal responded strongly, winning four straight league matches without conceding to reclaim control of the title race.

The club’s official website celebrated the historic achievement in a statement titled “Arsenal crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions.”

“We have been crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions with a game to spare, after an incredible campaign in N5 has ended with us claiming our 14th top-flight championship,” the statement read.

The club noted that Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Burnley on Monday placed pressure on Manchester City, who failed to respond with a win against Bournemouth.

According to the club, Arteta has now become the first Arsenal manager in 22 years to win the Premier League title.

Arsenal have won 25 of their 37 league matches this season, drawing seven and losing only five times.

The Gunners also boast one of the best defensive records in the league, keeping 19 clean sheets, while goalkeeper David Raya secured the Golden Glove award for the third consecutive season.

Their season began with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, and Arsenal went on to win nine of their first 10 league matches to take an early lead in the title race.

Arsenal supporters are expected to celebrate the trophy presentation at Selhurst Park on Sunday when the club face Crystal Palace in their final league game of the season.

The North London side could also cap off one of the greatest seasons in the club’s history by winning the UEFA Champions League later this month.

Arsenal are set to face reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on May 30 in Budapest as they chase their first-ever European Cup title.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s draw against Manchester City also secured a historic achievement for the club, as the Cherries qualified for European competition for the first time in their 127-year history.
