Prominent media mogul and politician, Chief Dele Momodu, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party’s alleged takeover by antidemocratic forces.

In a resignation letter dated July 17, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of PDP Ward 4, Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area, Edo State, Momodu stated that his decision to leave the party was immediate and based on principle.

According to him, “Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight.”

Momodu described it as “honourable to abandon the carcass of the party” and announced his alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which he described as a new coalition party.
