Nigerian football legend and Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, has announced her retirement from international football following Nigeria’s victorious campaign at the 2024/25 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) – their historic 10th title win.

Oshoala, 30, made the announcement via her official Facebook page, describing it as a “legendary exit” and a heartfelt decision to make room for rising talents in Nigerian and African football.

“At 30, with six African Women’s Best Player awards, I will bow out to start a new chapter after WAFCON 2024/25,” she wrote.

“Thank you for your unwavering support. I’m forever grateful for the love and sacrifices shared with me through this journey.”
