Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has suspended 87 government officials, including commissioners and permanent secretaries, for failing to attend a key state function.

The officials face a one-month suspension without pay and are barred from signing any official documents during the period.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has suspended 87 government officials, including commissioners, senior special assistants, special assistants, and permanent secretaries, for failing to attend an important state function.

In a statement issued Monday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, the governor directed that the affected officials proceed on a one-month working suspension without pay, effective immediately.

The suspension affects 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries, who are also barred from signing any official documents during the suspension period.

The statement further instructed all affected commissioners to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries, emphasizing that the governor is committed to enforcing discipline, accountability, and dedication in public service.
