Following the high rate charges by Point of Sales (PoS) agents, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued an emergency phone number to Nigerians to report any of the agents selling, issuing or charging higher than the approved rate.

VerseNews Nigeria gathered that most of the PoS operators have taken advantage of the naira scarcity to make wealth for themselves by charging over 300% from selling naira notes to the general public.

A customer who reported this this Online News Media and craved anonymity said he was so angry at the point making trouble when he was charged N400 to withdraw N1,000 for a PoS operator.

Reacting to the situation, VerseNews Nigeria reports that the CBN Governor’s Director’s Department, Joseph Omayuku while addressing journalists warned that individuals involved in the illegal and illicit practice of selling the naira notes and charging high rate should abstain it immediately.
