- Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has officially announced his retirement from international football, bringing an end to a distinguished career with Nigeria’s national team.

Musa, who currently serves as the General Manager of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Kano Pillars, made the announcement via his social media account on Wednesday.
In an emotional post, the 33-year-old reflected on his journey and achievements with the national team, writing:
“I wore this badge with pride for 15 years.
From a 17-year-old boy answering every call to becoming the most capped Super Eagle with 111 appearances.
AFCON champion.
Nigeria’s highest World Cup goalscorer.
Captain. Servant. Believer.
I gave everything.
Thank you Nigeria… my heart will always beat green.”

Musa made his Super Eagles debut on September 5, 2010, in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar, beginning what would become one of the longest international careers in Nigerian football history.
