The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Desmond Elliot of All progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Surulere Constituency in the States of Assembly election.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the INEC Returning Officer, Dr. O. J. Fenuga, made the declaration after announcing the result.

According to him, Elliot polled a total of 17,822 votes to defeat his closest rival Adebayo Bode of the Labour Party (LP), who got 7,822 votes.

Thompson Sulaimon Abolaji Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got a total of 1,045 votes.

Elliot, reacting to his victory on twitter appreciated his supporters and promised to give his utmost best in the call.

He wrote; “I commend the worthy effort given
by other candidates in orher parties:
Hon Thompson (PDP)
Mr Olumide Oworu (LP)
Mr Bode Adedayo (LP)
I’m glad for the youthful zest you put into the campaign
Please I am more than willing to work with you and share ideas on how to make our dear constituency a better place.
I pledge to give my utmost best at giving succor and relief to my constituents to the best of my Legislative ability
Thank you Thank you Thank you
