- Abia police say they have rescued 10 stolen children, arrested suspects linked to the Uratta police station attack and recovered 15 firearms during operations across the state.

The Abia State Police Command has announced the rescue of 10 stolen children and the arrest of suspects allegedly linked to the deadly attack on Uratta Divisional Police Headquarters in Aba.
The command also reported recovering 15 firearms and 30 stolen vehicles during separate operations across the state.
Commissioner of Police Afolabi Wilfred disclosed the developments at a briefing on Friday, November 6, outlining the command’s operational achievements since September 11.
The announcement covered multiple investigations and recoveries, rather than a single raid. According to the police account, officers also arrested suspects accused of robbing students of Abia State University, Uturu, of phones and other valuables with a locally fabricated firearm on October 31.
The arrests connected to the Uratta attack follow an assault on the divisional headquarters in the early hours of October 17.
Police spokesperson Maureen Chinaka said at the time that attackers used explosives, triggering a fire that damaged part of the building and a patrol vehicle.
Two senior police officers were killed, while three inspectors sustained injuries.
The command said no firearms or ammunition were taken from the station during that attack. The latest announcement of weapons recovered across the state should therefore be distinguished from the earlier incident.
