- Omotola says she has received no Nollywood royalties despite three decades in the industry, contrasting her experience with payments from Hollywood projects.

Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has questioned the payment structures in Nigeria’s film industry, saying she has never received royalties from her Nollywood work despite a career spanning three decades.
She contrasted that experience with Hollywood, where she said she continued to receive residual payments after working in the industry for about five years.
“I’ve worked in Nollywood for 30 years and have never received a single envelope,” she said.
Her comments concern continuing payments associated with previously completed projects, rather than a claim that she received no acting fees.
Omotola had previously advocated royalty clauses in her contracts and raised concerns about the absence of a structured residual-payment system.
The remarks were reported in September and featured again in November coverage. They reflect her personal experience and do not establish the payment terms of every Nollywood production.
