The petition filed by the former Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola against the victory of Ademola Adeleke a come to its final phase as the Supreme Curt announces May 9 for judgement day.

VerseNews Nigeria reported that the three-man panel led by Justice Mohammed Shuaibu has has on Friday March 24 affirmed Senator Ademola Adeleke’s victory as winner and the Governor of Ogun State.

Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was sacked from his office as Ogun governor following the Election Petition Tribunal by the former governor Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressive Congress (APC).

The Court panel faulted the Osun State tribunal that there was over voting, a claim that only relied on the evidence by Oyetola and the APC, and as such, doesn’t prove their case in any way.

The judge also faulted Oyetola and APC that they only relied on the data from the back end server and failed to look at the voters register which forms the foundation of the whole electoral process and as such, cannot strengthen their allegations of over voting.
