Serie A club side, AS Roma, have signed Belgium international and former Chelsea player, Romelu Lukaku.

VerseSports reports that Lukaku on Thursday joined Roma on loan till June 2024.

Lukaku will reunite with his former bossy, Jose Mourinho.

The 30-year-old is joining the Giallorossi after his loan deal with Inter Milan expired when he joined in July 2022.

In a statement issued by the club on their official website, Lukaku said, “It’s nice to know I’m a part of it today. I recently got the opportunity to speak with the owners, and I was impressed by their ambition. Now we must work, be humble, and grow game by game. For my part, I can’t wait to be available to my teammates both on and off the pitch.”

Lukaku is still one of the most sought after center-forward with his scoring abilities.

With this, the former Manchester United player has 280 goals in 589 club appearances with 93 assists.

His physical appearance on goal has helped him in winning the Belgian championship with Anderlecht, the FA Cup and the Club World Cup with Chelsea, and also the Scudetto, Italian Cup, and Italian Super Cup with Inter.

“Knowing that Lukaku has chosen Roma can only bring us great satisfaction. With his arrival, we gain more experience, professionalism, and a drive to win,” commented Tiago Pinto, Roma’s General Manager, Football.

“All our decisions are focused on increasing the squad’s competitiveness, and we continually assess their performances on the pitch. However, it makes us very proud to watch the fans greet Romelu with such excitement.”
