Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, has expressed concerns about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s alleged plans to use propaganda as a state policy.

VerseNews reports that Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, issued a statement warning that the recent fake news about lifting the UAE visa ban is just the beginning of Tinubu’s propaganda efforts.

It is claimed that Tinubu has appointed numerous media aides with the intention of disseminating misinformation to distract Nigerians from the challenges caused by his administration.

The statement suggests that this has been Tinubu’s approach since his days as governor of Lagos and leader of his party.

The statement anticipates that Tinubu will use the United Nations General Assembly as a platform to claim to attract foreign investments of $100 billion without providing essential details, which is considered propaganda.

It criticizes previous instances where the Nigerian government claimed to secure significant investments but failed to provide substantial evidence.

The statement cites the devaluation of the Nigerian naira and questions the effectiveness of Tinubu’s economic policies.

It points out that Tinubu has appointed over 15 media aides while lacking economic experts on his team.

The list of media aides appointed by Tinubu is provided in the statement.

The statement criticizes Tinubu for holding only one cabinet meeting since his inauguration nearly 120 days ago.
