The Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced plans to employ over five million Nigerians after the restructuring of the N-Power job-creation scheme.
VerseNews had reported that the N-Power program was recently suspended due to irregularities, and the government is currently conducting an investigation before relaunching it.
The age bracket for N-Power beneficiaries has been expanded from 18 to 40 years, up from the previous limit of 18 to 35 years.
The government aims to reach 5 million beneficiaries in the next five years, with a million beneficiaries annually, through graduate and non-graduate streams.
The restructured N-Power program will include new initiatives in various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, technology, fashion, entertainment, and more.
Transparency and accountability will be a priority, and the government is conducting a thorough audit to address issues of sharp practices and unpaid stipends.
Once the verification exercise is complete, the government intends to resolve all outstanding obligations to beneficiaries.
