The timetable and schedule of activities for the February 3, 2024 by-elections have been officially announced by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

VerseNews reports that the release of the APC timetable, which took place on Monday, was authorized by Sulaimon Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary.

The party has announced that the sale of nominations, expression of interest, and delegates forms for candidates running for Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assemblies seats will commence on December 27, 2023, and conclude on January 2, 2024.

Primary elections are scheduled to take place on January 6, 2024.

In terms of pricing, the APC has set the cost for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms as follows: N20m for the Senate, N10m for the House of Representatives, and N2m for the House of Assembly.

Furthermore, the party has specified that female aspirants and individuals with disabilities will be required to pay for the Expression of Interest form, while the Nomination Form will be provided free of charge.

“Youths from 25 to 40 years are to purchase Expression of Interest forms with a 50% discount on Nomination Forms,” the APC stated.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the by-elections to take place on February 3, 2024.

These by-elections are necessary due to the resignation or passing away of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly.

The vacancies are spread across two Senatorial Districts, four Federal Constituencies, and three State Constituencies, encompassing nine States of the Federation.
