The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Altiku Abubakar the winner in President Mahammdu Buhari’s state, Katsina

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the result was announced by the Returning Officer of the State, Prof. Maua’zu Abubakar Gusau, at the INEC Presidential Election Collation Centre in Katsina.

According to Prof. Gusau who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Atiku polled a total of 489,045 votes to defeat Bola Tinubu of All Progressive Congress (APC) who got 482,283 votes.

The third runner, Rabiu Kwankwaso of NNPP got 69,386 followed by Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) who secured 6,376 votes.
