The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has dismissed reports claiming that registration has commenced for a purported ₦50,000 National Support Allowance, describing the information as false and fraudulent.

In a public notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, the ministry warned Nigerians against falling victim to fake messages, websites and application links circulating online.

According to the ministry, no registration is currently ongoing for any ₦50,000 National Support Allowance programme.

“The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has NOT commenced registration for any ₦50,000 National Support Allowance,” the ministry stated.

It further advised Nigerians to ignore all messages and websites promoting the alleged programme and to verify government information only through official communication channels.

“Disregard fraudulent messages, links and websites claiming otherwise. Verify any info only through official government channels,” the statement added.

The clarification follows the circulation of a fake flyer on social media claiming that the Federal Government had launched a ₦50,000 National Support Allowance under the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

The fraudulent advertisement, written in both English and Hausa, directs unsuspecting Nigerians to apply through a suspicious website, kluspz.com, which the ministry says has no connection with the Federal Government.

The ministry urged members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid submitting personal information or making payments through unofficial platforms.

The warning comes amid growing concerns over online scams targeting Nigerians seeking government grants and social intervention programmes.

Similar fraudulent schemes have previously surfaced around popular Federal Government initiatives, including the N-Power programme and other social investment schemes, prompting repeated warnings from government agencies.

Authorities have advised citizens to rely only on verified government websites and official social media accounts for information about any welfare or empowerment programme.
