A Third Mainland Bridge Accident in Lagos resulted in tragedy as two passengers were flung into the lagoon and numerous others were injured.

The incident involved an LT 18-seater vehicle, which swerved off the road and collided with the bridge railings, causing the passengers to be ejected. Rescue operations by the Nigerian Marine Police were underway, as reported by the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency.

Two unidentified passengers were tragically flung into the lagoon and several others sustained injuries during a harrowing accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State on Wednesday.

According to reports gathered by VerseNews, the incident involving an LT 18-seater with the number plate FKJ 872 YA occurred near Adeniyi Adele inward Lagos Island.

The National Emergency Management Agency’s Lagos Territorial Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, explained that the driver, reportedly speeding, lost control, causing the vehicle to collide with the bridge railings and ejecting the passengers into the Lagos lagoon.

Rescue efforts were underway, led by the Nigerian Marine Police, as depicted in a video shared on Sabi Radio’s Instagram account.

“The victims, an adult male and female, are being searched by the Marine Police.

“The injured have been evacuated to a nearby hospital,” he said.
