The Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspected cultists in Sagamu and recovered arms, ammunition, and assorted charms.

VerseNews reports that the arrests took place on Sunday, September 17, following a raid conducted by the police and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).

The raid was prompted by a report of a clash between two rival cult groups, Aiye and Eiye, resulting in four deaths at Ewu Iya Sunday in Sakora.

The area commander quickly mobilized operatives to the scene to defuse the conflict and apprehend the cultists responsible.

As a result of the operation, seven suspected cultists were arrested, and subsequent investigations led to the discovery of firearms, ammunition, and various criminal charms.

The apprehended cultists are identified as Asaiye Omolaja, Azeez Nofiu, Mathew Adewale, and Bolaji Ogunkemaya.

Notably, Bolaji Ogunkemaya was found in possession of the four corpses of the deceased within the same room where the killings occurred.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, has issued a directive to the Anti-cultism unit to pursue other fleeing members of the cult group and prosecute those who have been arrested.
