Olatosho Oshoffa, Shepherd-in-Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters, Ketu, has condemned the decision of the pastor of one of its parishes in Lagos state who invited Fuji singer Pasuma and street-hop artiste Portable to perform at its praise night in December.

VerseNews reports that a leaflet distributed by the church earlier today announcing Pasuma and Portable as guest artists at its praise/Ankara night elicited varied comments on social media.

While some Nigerians saw nothing wrong with the church’s choice, others claimed that inviting secular artists to perform inside a church is unethical. They contended that a Muslim, such as Pasuma, should not be permitted to perform in a church.

Reacting via his Facebook page, Oshoffa stated he had spoken to the cleric in charge of the parish and that the artists would no longer grace the occasion.

Sharing the poster on his Facebook page, he wrote,

“Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters. He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the Nights. There is No doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”
