The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has refuted claims of arresting and detaining the late singer MohBad or providing him with any substances to drink.

VerseNews reports that the NDLEA’s denial comes in response to allegations and an ongoing investigation by the Nigeria Police Force regarding MohBad’s video in which he claimed to have been arrested by law enforcement agents.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, announced the investigation into NDLEA’s potential involvement in MohBad’s case.

The NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, emphasized that the agency had already responded to the police’s inquiries on September 28, 2023, denying the arrest and detention of MohBad and the allegations of providing him with any substance to drink.

The NDLEA reiterated that MohBad was never arrested or detained in their custody on the mentioned date or any other date, and therefore, the claim of providing him with any substance is baseless.

The statement reads; “We also heard the unsubstantiated allegation on social media that Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad, was arrested and detained by NDLEA on the 24th of February 2022 and given a substance to drink. In response to this allegation, we wish to state categorically that MohBad was never arrested neither was he ever detained in the custody of the NDLEA on the said date or any other date before or after. The foregoing being the case, the issue of giving him any substance to drink does not arise.”
