Why Tinubu’s Govt Sacked Directors Of Aviation Agencies Hours After CEOs Removal

The federal government of Nigeria has taken swift action by relieving all directors of aviation agencies of their appointments less than 24 hours after sacking all heads of these agencies.

VerseNews reports that the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi made the announcement, instructing the directors to hand over their responsibilities to the most senior individuals in their respective departments or directorates.

The present government explained that the move was in efforts to reposition the aviation industry, ensuring safety and efficiency in air travel in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Some of the directors were reportedly appointed shortly before May 29, coinciding with the transition to the new administration.

The affected agencies include:

1. Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)

2. Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET)

3. Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA)

4. Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)

5. Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB)

The statement clarified that board secretaries and legal advisers of the agencies are not affected by the directive.
