Mohbad’s Father Demands Testimonies From Key Witnesses In Coroner’s Inquest
The lawyers questioned the functionality of the CCTV at Mohbad’s home during the alleged events.
Joseph Aloba, father of the late Afrobeats singer Mohbad, has urged the Coroner to summon key individuals, including Ayobami Fisayo (Spending), Boluwatife Adeyemo (Darosha), and Ibrahim Owodunni (Prime Boy), to testify in the ongoing inquest into his son’s death.
VerseNews reports that in a letter dated January 15, 2024, Joseph Aloba’s lawyers emphasized the importance of their eyewitness accounts to unravel the suspicious circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise on September 12, 2023.
The letter revealed discrepancies in previous testimonies, citing unmentioned incidents on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and at the deceased’s residence on September 12, 2023.
The lawyers questioned the functionality of the CCTV at Mohbad’s home during the alleged events.
Concerns about potential witness tampering were also raised, leading to the call for testimonies from crucial figures, including the driver, wife, brother, and proposed witnesses to the coroner.
The late singer’s death prompted a letter from the law firm of Falana & Falana Chambers to Chief Coroner Justice Mojisola Dada on September 18, 2023, requesting a coroner’s inquest. Preliminary investigations began on September 29, 2023, at the Magistrate court in Ikorodu, Lagos, where police officers and MohBad’s Disc Jockey provided testimonies.
The inquest aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death at the age of 27.
