NNPP stakeholders have given Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf a 48-hour ultimatum to resign.

This decision follows a vote of no confidence on the governor during an emergency meeting.

Members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 19 northern states have given Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state a 48-hour ultimatum to resign from his position.

VerseNews reports that in an emergency meeting held on Saturday, April 13, stakeholders passed a vote of no confidence on the governor, accusing him of straying from the party’s objectives and disregarding the NNPP’s development plans for the state.

In a communique sent to VerseNews on Monday, April 15, the group expressed concerns that Governor Yusuf has been engaging in political vendetta and witch-hunting.

Attahiru Musa, president of the group, and Simeon Pam, its secretary, emphasized their dissatisfaction with the governor’s approach and called for his immediate resignation.

The communique reads in part: “As stakeholders, we can no longer pretend that all is well when clearly, nothing is working. Kano State was supposed to be the model for the Federal Government to follow.”
