Naira Marley’s associate, Law Lee publicly expressed increasing hatred for the late singer Mohbad on Instagram, linking his feelings to an industry feud involving other artists.
Following Mohbad’s controversial death on September 12, 2023, the Lagos State Police launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of Naira Marley and socialite Sam Larry for allegedly mistreating Mohbad.
Law Lee, a known associate of the popular Nigerian singer Naira Marley, has sparked further controversy following the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, with a contentious post on social media.
VerseNews gathered that in an Instagram post dated Friday, Law Lee expressed an escalating disdain for Mohbad, even posthumously, tying his sentiments to an ongoing feud in the music industry involving other artists such as Habeeb Okikiola (Portable) and Zinoleesky.
The feud escalated when Portable criticized Zinoleesky for his lavish spending on a luxury car despite a perceived drop in musical output. Law Lee attributed his growing animosity towards Mohbad to derogatory comments Mohbad allegedly made about Zinoleesky, which he believes fueled Portable’s public rebuke.
Law Lee’s post read: “Every day my hatred for Mohbad keeps increasing even after his death. If not for all those miscap about zino na why this @portablebaeby get mind dey sub am. Fooooooooooool.”
This Online News Platform recalls that Mohbad, who had previously severed ties with Marlian Music—a label owned by Naira Marley—in February 2022, became the center of a police investigation following his mysterious death on September 12, 2023.
The Lagos State Police Command has since set up a 13-man special investigation team to delve into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
The investigation also led to the arrest of Naira Marley and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry, who were both accused of mistreating Mohbad prior to his death. These developments add layers to the ongoing discourse and scrutiny within the Nigerian music industry, reflecting deep-seated issues that go beyond the music.
