Court Slams N1m Bail on Nigerian Lady for Giving Fake Testimony in Church

A Nigerian woman, Loveth Alo Helen, was granted N1 million bail after being arraigned for giving a fake testimony in church about purchasing a N200 million house. The court adjourned the case to April 9, 2025.
An Enugu Magistrate Court has granted N1 million bail to Loveth Alo Helen who was arraigned for giving fake testimony at the Zion Prayer Movement in Lagos.
VerseNews gathered that Helen, 32, was arraigned before Magistrate S.O. Chukwuani, on a four-count charge after she was captured in a viral video at Prophet Ebuka Obi’s church giving fake testimony on how she purchased a house worth N200 million.
Trouble started for Helen after someone identified her in front of a shop suspected to be hers. The individual compared the video clip from the church where she gave the testimony and shared the clip on social media.
This led to an outrage on social media, with Obi stating that he never knew the lady lied about her N200 million house testimony.
The building claimed to have been purchased by Helen is a five-bedroom duplex located at Plot 16, WTC Estate, Enugu and belongs to Emmanuel Asogwa.
Helen was further arrested and arraigned in court for charges bordering on obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.

Upon hearing the matter as called by the court clerk, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted a N1 million with a surety in like sum.
The surety, according to the magistrate will provide his or her three years tax clearance before the court.
The matter was adjourned until April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
Speaking after her arraignment, Helen said, “I did the testimony claiming that I will get it, nobody arranged anything with me, I did not collect anything from anybody.
She added that by faith, she had earlier gone for an inspection of the property which she was proposing to purchase and she had assured the owners that she was coming back to buy the house.
