A Nigerian woman shared how her father died after being rejected by multiple hospitals due to a lack of beds, blaming the country’s failing healthcare system.

She questioned why the government ignores critical issues while dismissing citizens’ demands for better governance.

A Nigerian woman has shared a heartbreaking experience of how her father died due to the country’s failing healthcare system, sparking discussions on the state of public hospitals and governance.

In an emotional statement, she recounted the ordeal of rushing her father to multiple hospitals, only to be met with rejection due to poor medical facilities.

“My father died because there was no bed in a government hospital. He was rushed to three different hospitals on emergency before he died. The first hospital said they were not equipped enough to attend to him. The second hospital said there was no bed. On the way to the third hospital, he died on the road in his country, his home country. Nigeria failed my father.”

She lamented how the failure of the system had turned her into an orphan and left her mother widowed.

“I became fatherless because of Nigeria. My mother became husbandless because of Nigeria. The health system, job market, terrible economy, inflation, bad roads, insecurity—so many problems in one country.”

She expressed frustration over how trivial matters often dominate public discourse while fundamental issues are ignored.

“And yet, the only problem you have is a young lady being able to afford one crate of eggs? Because she can still go out with her friends, she shouldn’t complain about the government? At what point do we start asking for more? At what point do we start demanding that our government actually care about us?”

Her emotional outcry has resonated with many Nigerians, highlighting the urgent need for reforms in healthcare and governance.
