ADC’s interim national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, has said he feels sorry for President Bola Tinubu, claiming the president “lives in a bubble” and is out of touch with the realities of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

Bolaji Abdullahi, interim national publicity secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has accused President Bola Tinubu of being out of touch with the realities of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Abdullahi criticized presidential aide Daniel Bwala for claiming that insecurity in the country had been “largely degraded.”

“I feel sorry for President Tinubu, because if this is the kind of narrative he gets to hear all the time, then it’s obvious he lives in a bubble,” Abdullahi said.

He cited the ongoing abduction of six law students, for whom kidnappers are demanding ₦120 million, as proof that the government’s narrative does not match the situation on the ground.

“Imagine the parents of these children, who were simply going to school, being abducted,” he said. “And kidnappers have the nerve to actually demand ₦120 million to release these children. These children are still in captivity as I speak.”

Abdullahi urged the president to leave Aso Rock and directly engage with Nigerians, warning that listening to aides and governors who “only say what will endear them to power” risks further disconnect from the people.

He also dismissed debates on the administration’s two-year scorecard, stressing that the real question is whether Nigerians’ lives are improving, as many businesses have collapsed under the current economic strain.
