Popular Nigerian social media influencer and automobile dealer, Waris Olayinka Akinwande, better known as Ola of Lagos, has broken his silence following the demolition of his car showroom by the Lagos State Government.
The facility, identified as OOL Autos, was reportedly pulled down on Saturday, October 11, 2025, according to multiple reports.
In a new video shared on social media, the influencer addressed the viral reports, explaining that the demolished property did not belong to him. Ola clarified that he had only leased a section of the land from Skywise Group for his business operations and never claimed ownership of the property.

According to him, the demolition carried out by the Lagos State Government was due to safety concerns and not a targeted attack on his business.
“Hello everyone, I would like to clarify the confusion circulating on social media concerning the demolition of my car lot. I never said or claimed to own the property of the Skywise group. All I did was lease a section for my business. I repeat again, I do not own the property nor have I ever claimed to build on the land.
“The Lagos State government demolished this place because of some safety precautions not taken, not that Ola of Lagos was targeted or anything. Please stop mixing it. The narrative going around that the government targeted Ola of Lagos — the young guy trying to grow — is false. We all knew this place was temporary, and it was not even safe. Look at the powerline.”

Ola also expressed his respect for the Skywise Group, commending their support and partnership, while urging the public to stop spreading misinformation.

“I honestly respect and support any government initiative that prioritizes the safety of its citizens. I never claimed to own this spot or develop the building. I had a good working relationship with the Skywise Group, and I appreciate them for leasing the space to me.”
Reassuring his fans and partners, the influencer revealed that a new and improved auto showroom is already in the works.
“To my fans, clients, partners, and supporters — don’t worry, it’s for the better. Ola of Lagos Auto Showroom is coming back bigger and better. This happened for good, not because the Lagos State Government targeted me. It’s for everyone’s safety.”
Ola’s statement has since gone viral on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), sparking mixed reactions from fans and followers.
