- Nigerian singer Tekno has set the internet on fire after posting a ₦298 million winning ticket from betPawa, sparking massive debate over whether it was a real jackpot or a marketing ploy.
Nigerian singer Tekno, whose real name is Augustine Miles Kelechi, has stirred massive reactions online after sharing what appears to be a ₦298 million winning ticket from the popular sports betting platform, betPawa.
In a video posted on his X (formerly Twitter) page on November 3, 2025, the “Pana” crooner flaunted a digital betting slip showing a ₦1 million stake with an alleged payout nearing ₦300 million.
The post quickly went viral, drawing thousands of comments and sparking heated debates on social media. Some fans flooded the replies with congratulations, calling it “God’s grace,” while others questioned the legitimacy of the win — especially given betPawa’s relatively modest payout limits.
Adding fuel to the controversy is the fact that Tekno currently serves as a brand ambassador for betPawa — a connection that has led many Nigerians to speculate that the post may be part of a marketing stunt.

betPawa, owned by singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi, who is also billionaire Femi Otedola’s in-law, has yet to issue an official statement addressing the viral claim.
One user, Caleb, reacted sharply:

Another, Semi, added:
“He no go show us the amount he don lose before he win this one o!”
While some users mocked Tekno for “turning to gambling,” others defended him, insisting the win was a “mix of grace and luck.”
“Omooo! Tekno really won ₦298m from just ₦1m stake?? That’s pure grace + luck combo!” one fan wrote.
As the discussion rages online, many Nigerians continue to question whether this was a genuine win or a clever promotional move — leaving social media split between believers and sceptics.
