The paternity debate over Liam, the son of late music star Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has resurfaced after the child’s mother, Wunmi, issued a new statement defending herself against accusations of avoiding a DNA test.

Her response comes after Mohbad’s father announced that the court case has been reopened, with the singer’s burial on hold until a DNA test confirms Liam’s paternity. The grieving grandfather has repeatedly questioned the child’s paternity, seeking a court order to compel Wunmi to present Liam for testing — a move that has sparked public criticism against her.

In a statement released through her lawyers and posted on Instagram, Wunmi countered the claims, insisting that she is not avoiding the test. According to her, it is Mohbad’s father who has caused delays.

She revealed that the matter was heard in court yesterday, where Mohbad’s father reportedly applied for an order that the DNA test must be carried out only in two hospitals of his choice. Wunmi said the court rejected the request, ruling that the test must take place at two neutral and independent hospitals where neither side has personal interest.
