The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that the prime suspect in the alleged murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, confessed that he planned the attack to “teach her a lesson.”

Speaking at a press briefing in Abeokuta on Thursday, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said the prime suspect, identified as Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, was arrested following forensic analysis of a note discovered inside the deceased’s recovered vehicle.

According to the police, Philip, 22, was arrested at a construction site in Ibara, Abeokuta, where he was working as a labourer.

Further investigations led to the arrest of two other suspects, identified as Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola and Sobu Obafunsho.

The police commissioner said Philip allegedly admitted coordinating the attack because of grievances he had with Oyesiku while working as her security guard.

The suspects reportedly fled with Oyesiku’s Lexus RX 330 vehicle, which was later recovered through intelligence-led and technical tracking operations.
