The Lagos State Labour Party (LP) has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) demanding the arrest and prosecution of he Chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, Musliu Akinsanya known as MC Oluomo over threat against its supporters during the governorship poll on March 18, 2023.

VerseNews Nigerian reports that in the petition signed by the LP State Chairman Pastor Dayo Ekong and sate Secretary Sam Okapla titled RE: ‘FORMAL COMPLAINT AND PETITION AGAINST MR MUSILIU AKAINSANYA (MC OLUOMO)’, the party recalled the threat issued by MC Oluomo against its Igbos supporters in a viral video circulating on social media platforms.

This Online News Media reported that MC Olomo was caught in a viral video issuing threats to Igbo supporters saying “in pidgin English ‘we have begged them, it is not a fight, if they did not vote for us, iya Chukwudi, if you no wan vote for us, please sit down for house ooo!!”

The request directed to the secret police also noted the sacrifice performed by the Obaof ELegushi, Oniru of Iru and other traditional rulers in state during the conduct of the election in effort to trigger fear among its Igbo supporters and to disfranchise them.

However, the party as asked the DSS to invite MC Oluomo and the traditional rulers involved in the sacrifice during the Election Day for further questioning and investigation.

The petition reads; “1. We write to draw your attention to the insightful, threatening and anti-democratic public utterences of one Musilium Akinsanya known as MC Oluomo”

2. Mr Akinsanya is a staunch APC supporter ‘the leader os APC’s violence enforcement team.’

3. May we refer you to a video which is available on social media where he is threatening voters based on ethnic political sentiments. This is unacceptable.

4. He further directs that in areas where APC may be losing, the supporters “know what to do”.

5. For ease of reference, the video is available in PUCH News paperteitter and other media social platform

6. He said in pidgin English ‘we have begged them, it is not a fight, if they did not vote for us, iya Chukwudi, if you no wan vote for us, please sit down for house ooo!!’. This is a threat to Igbo voters.

7. We need to remind the state Department of the consequences of election violence in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

8. We have also had it on good security intelligence that the Oba of Elegushi, Oniru of Iru Land, Ayangberu of Ikorodu and other traditional rulers in Lagos State have continuously threatened our supporters not exercise their franchise on the 18th March 2023, based on a proposed ORO sacrifice celebration that have been declared to hold from 17th of March 17 2023, through Tuesday 21st of March 12, 2023.

Whilst we are confident in the actions of the security forces at securing the lives of our supporters, we enjoin your office to take immediate actions at arresting/or inviting MC OLUMO for further investigation and immediately stop this sacrifice by the Oba of ELegushi, Oniru of Iru and other traditional rulers in Lagos State during the conduct of the March 18th, 2023 election.

“We look forward to your ugent and immediate action in this regard.”
