Mrs Adefolu Funmilola Sherifat, lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State was found butchered in her house in Gbaiko area of ​​the city.

VerseNews reports that Professor Gbolakhan Bolarin, President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASU), confirmed the incident.

Professor Bolarin said her body was discovered on Sunday morning when church members who had not seen him during a service raided his house.

According to some residents, when the door of his house was forced open, blood flowed from his neck and a gun was found nearby.

Other residents that spoke to our Reporters said that the late university professor’s husband, who was a teacher at the school, is dead.

It was further gathered that the lecturer, until her death, was staying with a female househelp but laid off the girl last Friday.

Also speaking on the incident, the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, said the body of the late lecturer had been moved to the mortuary.
