Bride Weeps Groom-To-Be Dies Days To Their Wedding, Now To Be Buried On Proposed Wedding Date
The wedding date, initially slated for the 11th of November, has now become the new burial date for the husband.
A groom-to-be, identified as Nsidibe Aniekan Davies, has passed away after a brief illness, just days before his wedding.
VerseNews gathered that the man was scheduled to marry his fiancée, Peace Eyibio Etim, on November 11th 2023 in Eyibio’s compound, Ikot Anse Itam Itu L.G.A, Akwa Ibom state.
According to devastating news shared on Facebook by a friend, the deceased complained of having headache. He was diagnosed with malaria after visiting the hospital. However, he died shortly after.
Peace was devastated as she took her Facebook (Lizzydamsel Etim) page to announce the burial of her groom-to-be, which will be taking place on their scheduled wedding day.
Some of the pictures taken during the couple’s pre-wedding photoshoot which were to be put in their wedding programmes have now been used for his obituary posters.
According to the lady, she had to post picture, meant for their pre-wedding photos, to announce her lover’s obituary.
But from the bride’s chat with a relative, it appeared the hospital did not commence treatment immediately and he eventually died.
In a chat with her elder sister with whom she had been planning on making some purchase for the forthcoming wedding, the devastated bride told her there was no need for her to buy anything any longer as she had just lost her husband-to-be.
The sister responded with: “Jesus!”
The bride also informed her friend that she was in isolation, apparently as part of the tradition for widows in her community in Akwa Ibom where they are from. She cannot be visited and cannot call or receive calls. So she has only been exchanging text and WhatsApp messages.
A bride’s friend, who also shared the news on her Facebook page, posted some screenshots of her chat with the lady who informed her of the tragedy.
The wedding date, initially slated for the 11th of November, has now become the new burial date for the husband.
The burial will now take place at St. Hillary Catholic Church, Ekit Itam 2.
