Mr Ibu Undergoes Five Major Surgeries, Appeals For More Medical Aid

Renowned Nigerian actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, celebrated his 63rd birthday from a hospital bed, where he has been undergoing medical treatment for an ailment that had posed a risk to his leg.

VerseNews reports that in a statement posted on his Instagram page, the actor expressed his gratitude for the support, encouragement, and prayers he had received from the public.

“We want to thank God and most especially the general public for their support, encouragement, and prayers during this challenging time,” he wrote.

“We called on Good Nigerians, and we are very grateful for the response, most notably the donations, which came in very timely and proved very helpful.”

Mr Ibu revealed that he had successfully undergone five surgeries so far and is currently recovering in the ICU.

He further expressed his immense gratitude to the general public and the donors, promising that he would personally acknowledge all donations once he is better.

The actor’s family is continuing to seek prayers and unwavering support to ensure his quick stabilization, enabling them to fly him abroad for further advanced treatment.

“The John Okafor family is grateful to all Nigerians,” he concluded.
