• A disturbing video showing malnourished toddlers crying in bandits’ captivity has sparked outrage across Nigeria, while another clip allegedly shows gunmen flaunting cash believed to have been obtained from ransom payments.

A disturbing video currently circulating on social media has shown several malnourished toddlers crying while being held in suspected bandits’ captivity, triggering fresh concerns over the growing kidnapping crisis in Nigeria.

In the heartbreaking footage, the children were seen lying on a bare floor, visibly weak and malnourished as they cried helplessly. However, the exact location of the children and the state from which they were abducted remain unknown as of the time of filing this report.

The development comes amid another viral video allegedly showing armed bandits displaying large sums of cash believed to have been received as ransom payments from victims’ families.

The footage was shared on Saturday by journalist and conflict reporter Bakatsine via his X account.

“This video shows bandits flaunting money obtained through ransom payments. May Allah bring an end to this tragedy and grant Nigeria lasting peace,” he wrote.
