He stated that he has always involved Buhari in major decisions, including his commissioner-nominees as governor.
Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that he left the All Progressives Congress (APC) with former President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval.
VerseNews reports that the former governor, who announced his defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Monday, made the revelation in a recent interview with BBC Hausa.
El-Rufai said he visited Buhari last Friday and informed him of his decision to leave the APC.

“I left the APC with his full knowledge. I visited him on a Friday and informed him of my decision to leave the party because I involve and consult with him on all my matters,” El-Rufai stated.
Speaking further, he revealed that during his tenure as governor, he submitted the list of his commissioner-nominees to Buhari for screening.
“After going through the list, he nodded his approval and offered prayers. I consult with him in all I do,” he added.
