Filmmaker Funke Akindele has welcomed a ₦5 billion revenue target for her forthcoming film, The Four: No One Fights Alone.

She spoke during a conversation with media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend in Lagos on Friday.
Responding to Jideonwo’s suggested target, she said: “I love it. Just N5bn, period. Let’s just start with that.”
The figure represents an ambition, rather than earnings already recorded.
Akindele also defended her promotional approach, explaining that reaching audiences requires deliberate planning across social media, advertising and entertainment content.
Addressing criticism of her dancing during campaigns, she maintained that actively promoting her work was legitimate and that other filmmakers could adopt approaches that suited them.
She said her strategy was not about competing with colleagues.
The film is scheduled for Nigerian cinemas on December 11, following a London premiere on November 29. Akindele said tickets for the London event had sold out.
