Abraham Basif, a groom set to tie the knot in a joyous celebration, tragically passed away just three days before his scheduled wedding.
The news of his untimely demise was shared by Theophilus Baba on Facebook, where he expressed deep sorrow at the loss of a promising young man, VerseNews learnt.
Baba’s heartfelt post included a picture of the deceased, along with poignant words: “Death of a young promising man hurt me to my bone but God knows it all. I never knew the day I came to see you in the hospital was our last meeting on earth, brother.”
The groom-to-be had posted his wedding invitation on November 29, 2023, inviting loved ones to celebrate his union on Friday, December 22, and Saturday, December 23. His caption reflected his gratitude, stating, “He made all things beautiful in his time. Please join us as we celebrate the faithfulness of God over our lives.”

Suleiman Naphysah mourned, “I can’t believe the news. This is so hard to bear for everyone who knows you. Rest on, Abraham Basif.”
Another friend, Voiceman Austine, expressed a shattered heart, asking, “Rest in peace, brother. What will now happen to your wedding next tomorrow, sir? Heart broken.”
