Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has generated mixed reactions online after disclosing that she burnt the outfit she wore to the burial of late actor Alex Ekubo.
The actress made the revelation through her Instagram Stories, where she shared a video showing the outfit being consumed by flames. According to Angela, the decision was based on guidance she received from her godmother, who advised her that clothes worn to burial ceremonies should not be kept.
Explaining her actions, Angela said she had only recently learned about the practice and felt compelled to pass the information on to her family, friends, and followers.
“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to have the cloth you wore to a burial around you; you burn them,” she wrote.
The actress further urged her followers to take note of the advice, adding prayers for long life and protection.
“So family and friends take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep and bless us with long life. Amen,” she added.
