The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed appreciation to members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, following what it described as a historic meeting with senior Israeli lawmakers in Jerusalem.

In a statement issued on July 18 and signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group thanked Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Nissim Vaturi, and Deputy Chairman of the Knesset and member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, Limor Son Har-Melech, for receiving an IPOB delegation.

According to the statement, “This historic engagement marks a significant milestone in IPOB’s peaceful international diplomatic outreach. We are sincerely grateful for the solidarity expressed — particularly the recognition that this is a global struggle between good and evil, and that good shall ultimately triumph when principled nations stand together.”

The group said the discussions in Jerusalem reinforced its longstanding belief that strategic partnerships with Israel and the United States would play an important role in advancing its aspirations.

IPOB also highlighted what it described as historical similarities between the Jewish and Biafran peoples, citing experiences of persecution, discrimination and displacement.

The statement added, “IPOB firmly believes that the restoration of Biafra as an independent sovereign state is the only viable and lasting solution. An independent Biafra will serve as a secure homeland and safe haven for persecuted Judeo-Christians and other vulnerable minorities across Nigeria who are currently threatened with extinction.”

Reaffirming its approach, the group said it remained committed to diplomacy and peaceful engagement.

“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to non-violent struggle, the rule of law, and constructive international engagement as championed by Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement read.

IPOB added that its international advocacy would continue in Washington, D.C., and other global capitals, while thanking the Government and people of Israel, the Knesset, and the Israeli lawmakers for what it described as their support and hospitality.
