- NDLEA has arrested social media influencer KC Luxury over an alleged ₦39bn cocaine cartel after 184.5kg of cocaine was intercepted in Lagos.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has announced the arrest of a Lagos-based social media influencer and luxury goods dealer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known online as KC Luxury, over his alleged link to an international cocaine trafficking cartel.
The agency said the operation led to the interception of 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a courier consignment in Lagos.
The seized cocaine was allegedly meant for export through a logistics channel, with the cartel reportedly planning to move the drugs from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, other parts of Europe and Asia.
How The Cocaine Cartel Was Uncovered
The operation began after NDLEA operatives intercepted a large cocaine consignment processed through a courier company in Lagos.
Following the seizure, a special investigation team was set up to trace the people behind the shipment.
The agency said the investigation exposed a network of individuals and intermediary companies allegedly used to process and move the consignment.
NDLEA described the seizure as one of its major recent narcotics investigations and one of the largest cocaine interceptions involving a courier channel in Nigeria.
KC Luxury Arrested While Allegedly Trying To Leave Nigeria
KC Luxury was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly trying to board a business-class flight to Paris.
The agency said intelligence showed that he was planning to leave the country after investigators linked him to the cocaine shipment.
At the time of arrest, he was allegedly found with foreign currency, including €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000 cash.
A search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Ikoyi, also reportedly led to the recovery of exotic vehicles.
NDLEA Links Influencer To International Drug Route
NDLEA alleged that KC Luxury used his public image as a luxury goods dealer and social media personality to cover a wider drug trafficking operation.
The agency said the cartel allegedly operated a route that moved cocaine from South America through Nigeria to the UK, Europe and Asia.
The estimated value of the intercepted shipment was put at about ₦39 billion in the cartel’s planned international distribution network.
Another Suspect Arrested
Another suspect, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, was also arrested in connection with the case.
He was identified as a staff member of the logistics firm allegedly used to process the cocaine consignment.
Investigators alleged that he had a direct relationship with the cartel’s Nigerian coordinator and helped package and process consignments for export.
Why This Case Matters
This case is important because it shows how drug networks may hide behind legitimate-looking businesses, social media influence and luxury lifestyles.
It also raises fresh concerns about the use of courier and logistics channels for international drug trafficking.
For Nigeria, the case is another reminder of the pressure on security agencies to stop the country from being used as a transit route for narcotics.
NDLEA said it would continue to pursue traffickers regardless of their public status, wealth or connections.
What Happens Next?
The suspects are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution.
However, it is important to note that the allegations remain subject to legal process until a court determines the case.
