Controversial street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has explained why he walked out of his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, insisting he was unfairly attacked during the bout.

Portable made the claims in a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, hours after he was disqualified from the highly publicised contest held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The singer alleged that Okocha abandoned boxing for wrestling during the fight, claiming he was bitten and choked inside the ring.

Displaying visible marks and a wound on his back, Portable insisted the injuries were sustained during the encounter.

“They said he eats Molly. He didn’t see Molly anymore. So he ate my back,” Portable said while showing the alleged bite marks.

He further accused the actor of biting him during the fight.

“Man, he bit me. I landed a heavy hit on him,” he claimed.

Portable maintained that he was dominating the contest before the altercation, insisting he landed more punches than Okocha.

“Normally, I beat him up. Man to man, one man is tougher than another. I dealt him a huge blow,” he said.

Explaining why he abandoned the fight, the singer said he no longer wished to participate in celebrity boxing, arguing that his career was worth far more than the prize money.

“He bit me, number one. He choked my neck. Camera it. That’s why I say I don’t fight again. I’m big! I’m bigger than the money! I’m a star!” he declared.

Portable also boasted that he had fulfilled his promise to land 10 punches on Okocha before the fight was halted.

“I wore one-round cloth to the bout. I wanted to beat him in one round,” he told his followers.

The much-anticipated rematch, tagged “Unfinished Business,” ended in controversy on Friday after Portable walked out of the ring before the end of the opening round.

Although he later returned to continue the contest, officials ruled that he had abandoned the fight and subsequently disqualified him, handing victory to Charles Okocha.

The rematch was organised to settle the long-running feud between the two entertainers following their first celebrity boxing clash in 2023, which Portable won. Okocha had disputed that result and demanded a rematch.

During Friday’s bout, the fight briefly descended into a wrestling-style scuffle as both men grappled with each other, forcing the referee, security personnel and bodyguards to intervene before order was restored.

Portable’s latest comments come a day after the controversial defeat, which marked his second consecutive loss in the celebrity boxing circuit and handed Okocha revenge for his defeat nearly three years ago.
