BREAKING: Appeal Court Affirms Finitri’s Election As Adamawa Governor
Appeal Court stated that Governor Fintiri was lawfully declared the winner.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed the petition by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani, challenging the election of Umar Ahmadu Fintiri as the governor of Adamawa State.
VerseNews reports that the court upheld the decision of the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, stating that Governor Fintiri was lawfully declared the winner.
The Appeal Court cited various grounds for dismissing the case, including the failure of Binani and APC to call polling agents as witnesses, the incompetency of the brief of argument, and incomplete records of appeal.
The court awarded a cost of N1 million to be paid to Fintiri and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Binani and APC.
