The Senate has directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure that the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, appears before the Senate Committee on Finance within the next 24 hours.

Citing section 89, sub section 2, VerseNews reports that Senator Sani Musa, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, issued the order for the RG’s presence during the budget Defense session on Wednesday.

This decision was made due to discrepancies discovered in the revenue generation and expenditure of the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Previously, the committee had found the commission to be lacking during the MTEF/FP defense. However, Senator Musa expressed his disappointment as the RG has ignored the committee’s summons for the third time, which he deemed as disrespectful.

He stated, ‘You have your book keepers; you have your records and we asked you to go and tidy up and report back, but you never did.”

The committee unanimously resolved that the Inspector General of Police compel his presence before the finance committee unfailingly on Thursday.
