The appeal Court has given permission to the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi to ascertain the conditions of the documents and materials used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the presidential election on February 25.

This Online News Media reports the Atiku and Obi in a separate Exparte  alleged that the presidential election is a clear violation of the Electoral Act rules and guidelines and did not meet the minimum standard expected of a free, transparent, credible fair election.

Obi who address Nigerians in a press conference argued that his party won the election and determined to take a peaceful and legal approach to justify his claim.

Atiku on his own side, rejected the outcome of the presidential result in the ground that it lacks credibility and transperacy as INEC failed to transmit results through its portal as expected.

Atiku’s lawyer, Adedamola Faloku prayed the court to grant the Exparte application brought before it pursuant to Section 146 (1) of the Electoral Act 2022, Paragraph 47 (1,2 and 3) of the first Schedule of the Electoral Act of 2022 and under the inherent by Section 6 (6) A and B of the 1999 Constitution.

The application was granted by the court in a bit to investigate the electoral materials and to interrogate the correspondent (INEC).
