Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyema, offers a fresh update on the airline’s Lagos-London flights, revealing complete ticket sell-out until September.

Onyema discusses Air Peace’s fleet expansion plans and the challenges faced, including negotiations with Gatwick Airport over security deposits.

Allen Onyema, the chief executive officer of Air Peace, revealed that his company has completely sold out tickets for the Lagos-London flights until September. Air Peace, Nigeria’s flag carrier, initiated its Lagos-London flight services on March 30.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, VerseNews reports that Onyema stated that the airline, boasting over 30 planes, has placed orders for 33 additional aircraft, envisioning a fleet of over 60 aircraft in the future.

Reflecting on the overwhelming demand, Onyema remarked, “At the end of the day, Air Peace will be owning over 60 aircraft…even that inaugural flight got sold out within days and even up to September.”

Despite the success, he acknowledged the recent challenges faced by the airline.

Onyema highlighted the financial hurdles encountered, citing Gatwick Airport’s demand for a security deposit exceeding £2 million before allowing operations to commence.

He questioned the fairness of such requirements compared to other airlines, emphasizing negotiations to reach a feasible arrangement.
